Transport Canada has updated their guidance material on June 23, 2021, for air operators managing travellers to Canada. The updates include
- Schedule 1 of the Interim Order has been amended and now only includes India at present (Pakistan has been removed). This means that pre-departure tests from Pakistan will now be accepted.
- Updates have been made to the communications products (Annex A, Annex B, and Annex I) as well as the Post-Arrival Section regarding the treatment of fully vaccinated travellers upon arrival in Canada that will be coming into force July 5, 2021 11:59:59 EDT as outlined in the Public Health Agency of Canada Order in Council, Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Quarantine, Isolation and Other Obligations). It is important to note that eligibility requirements to enter Canada have not changed; the update on July 5, 2021 11:59:59 EDT allows travellers who are already eligible to enter Canada who are fully vaccinated to benefit from the easing of some travel restrictions. At present, there is no new regulatory obligation on the air carrier; however, Transport Canada is asking for your assistance and cooperation in communicating with travellers to inform them of the advantage that will be gained throughout their travel journey if they are fully vaccinated.
