As a litigator David has appeared before all levels of both the British Columbia and Alberta Courts on a variety of matters.  He has also appeared before a number of boards and tribunals including the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board, the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Branch, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • 2007 Admitted to the British Columbia Bar;
  • 2007 Admitted to the Alberta Bar;
  • 2005 Juris Doctorate. University of Alberta;
  • 1999 B.Sc (Nursing) Laurentian University; and
  • 1997 B.Sc (Biochemistry) Laurentian University.

Professional Associations

David currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary, and the First Open Heart Society.

Prior to entering the practice of law school, David held instructor positions in numerous fields including as a:

  • Clinical Instructor for the Nursing Faculty of the University of Alberta;
  • Clinical Instructor for the Nursing Faculty of Laurentian University;
  • Sessional Instructor for the School of Human Movement of Laurentian University;
  • Teaching Assistant for the Chemistry Department of Laurentian University;
  • First Aid Instructor Trainer for the Red Cross;
  • National Lifeguard Service and Aquatic Emergency Care Instructor for the Life Saving Society;
  • taught conversational English at the South West Institute of Technology (Sichuan Province, People’s Republic of China); and
  • water-ski instructor (Vermont, USA).

Other Activities

On a personal note, David is a recreational triathlete and has completed numerous races including the Escape from Alcatraz, the St. Croix International Ironman, and Ironman Canada. David is also fluent in French.
