Colin Simkus

Colin was born in Montreal and was raised in Greater Vancouver.  He attended the University of British Columbia for both his undergraduate studies and for law school. He also attended Carleton University, in Ottawa, earning a master’s degree in international affairs. During his time in Ottawa, Colin also worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

After completing his studies, Colin worked in NATO’s Operations Directorate, in Brussels, where he gained a strong appreciation for the impact that the rule of law can have on a community. Colin has a strong interest in British Columbia’s history and politics, and has long enjoyed exploring Victoria during his pursuit of those endeavours.

Other Activities

Colin enjoys a range of interests from skiing and canoeing to debate and theatre. Colin is fluently bilingual (English and French), and has competed successfully in national-level inter-collegiate debate and mooting competitions, in both languages. Colin is also active in numerous civic interest and entrepreneurial groups.
